The size 14 was purchased because in the winter I wear heavier black boot socks, so I'm stuck buying another pair of Timberland's for work. It's extremely uncomfortable to wear the size 13 with just 1 pair of socks on, the size 14 is a much better fit with 1 pair of socks but I normally wear 2 pairs because of the dye issue. I usually were 2 pairs of socks, 1 pair white and 1 pair of black due to my jobs uniform code(The white socks are worn under the black because the dye from the black socks irritate my feet).
